Home to flâner's first store, our Melbourne space occupies a former barber shop that served the neighbourhood for over sixty years.


The original grid of the building was retained, restored and used as the organising principle for the entire design. Alignment, proportion and detail throughout the store
are guided by this rectilinear language, creating a sense of quiet order and restraint. References to the building's previous life remain throughout. Traditional barber poles are wrapped in hand-stitched leather sheaths, while a central marble counter anchors the space. Profiled timber cladding, textured finishes and brushed metal details soften the architecture, allowing fragrance to remain the focus.


Today, every fragrance and candle continues to be poured by hand from within the
store.

Located on Redchurch Street in Shoreditch, the London store marks a new chapter for Flâner.


Previously a neighbourhood pasta bar for almost fifteen years, the space has been completely reimagined as a journey through the world of Flâner, culminating in the Pouring Studio at its centre.

Reclaimed materials were used wherever possible. Discarded school floorboards were transformed into custom cabinetry. Offcuts of leather and pink marble found new purpose surrounding the Pouring Studio. Existing walls were stripped back to reveal layers of texture and history that now sit alongside contemporary
interventions.


The result is a space that feels both familiar and unexpected — shaped by its past, yet unmistakably Flâner. Like Melbourne, every fragrance and candle purchased here is prepared and poured
by hand within the store.

Our approach

We are drawn to independent, creative neighbourhoods.
We embrace the origins of each location, exploring what spaces were and
reinterpreting them as something new.
Where possible, existing elements are retained and repurposed, allowing each store to remain connected to its history and the neighbourhood around it.
Rather than imposing a concept onto a space, we work with what is already there, revealing character through careful intervention and considered detail.
While each store is unique, both carry the essence of Flâner: spaces designed to slow down, explore fragrance and reconnect with the unseen details of everyday life as the world moves quickly outside our doors.
At the heart of every store is an integrated pouring studio, where each fragrance and candle is prepared by hand, always.
Visitors can explore a growing perfumer's palette. A collection of raw materials and
essential oils displayed throughout the space, offering a glimpse into the ingredients and inspirations behind our fragrances.
